MeerKats After School Club has been running at Headley Park for many years it exists to provide Headley Park parent/carers with a safe, reliable and fun after school childcare option. Your children will find that our after school clubs have a very relaxed and welcoming feel.
Headley Park after school club is a non-profit club, it is run to help parents and carers with planned child care. Fees are used for staff, food and resources.
We are based in the hall and the classroom off the hall known as the burrow and have access to the playground, field, library and cooking area.
What we offer
We offer a wide range of activities including; cookery, craft, board games, reading, imaginary play, construction, sport, ipads and much more. During their time at the club the children choose what activities suit them best and staff are suitably qualified and trained to do the best for the children that attend.
A piece of fruit and drink are offered on arrival at the club and a hot snack is prepared at 4.15. This is a snack and is not intended to substitute a main evening meal. In order to develop independence the children are encouraged to prepare their own snack and clear away after themselves. We use fresh ingredients and follow statutory guidelines. Individual dietary
We fully appreciate that children may be tired at the end of a long school day and may simply just want to ‘chill out’ during their time with us. Children are encouraged to choose the activities they wish to take part in and the emphasis is very much on supervised free play, giving children a chance to catch up with old friends or make new ones.
Our after school club is led by Katrina Long and assisted by Laura Foley a Level 3 practitioner. All our staff are experienced, and comply with the EYFS requirements for register childcare. Staff are expected to undertake ongoing professional development training.
