Computing
At Headley Park, we aim to prepare our children to be "lifelong learners" with the confidence, knowledge and skills to cope with and make good use of new and emerging technologies.
Computing is an increasingly important part of life today so we aim to prepare pupils for the challenge of a rapidly developing and fast-changing technological world. The use of ICT will enhance and extend children’s learning across the whole curriculum, increasing motivation for learning, encouraging independence and collaboration and developing problem-solving skills.
We teach our children to understand and enjoy a range of technologies and to learn to use them responsibly and safely, understanding their limitations and dangers as well as their benefits.
Computing is taught through discrete lessons and we also provide opportunities for children to apply and consolidate their skills across the curriculum. We aim for our school to be a technology-rich environment, where access to modern technology and online resources is natural and commonplace.
We place a strong emphasis on online and digital safety. We teach children how to stay safe online and provide regular reminders and updates to both parents and children.
