Applying for a school place

Variations to our Admission Arrangements effective from 1st September 2021

In line with the introduction of the new School Admissions Code in September 2021, schools which are their own Admission Authorities have been required to put specific variations in place to previously determined admission arrangements for 2021/22 and 2022/23.

These relate to the definition of looked after and previously looked after children (children in care/previously in care whether in England or elsewhere), the definition of 'Home', in year admission procedures and how distance is measured.

These variations were determined for use by Cathedral Schools Trust (CST) who is the admission authority. You can view the Varied Admission Arrangements for 2021/22 and 2022/23 by following the links below:

Reception admissions 2022

If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, you must apply for a new reception school place.

All applications for Headley Park Primary School are made on the common application form (CAF) via your home local authority (this is where you pay your council tax).

School admissions information is available online for parents and carers to view and download:

https://www.bristol.gov.uk/schools-learning-early-years/primary-admissions

The CAF will be available from mid September and will close by midnight on January 15th 2022. It is not necessary to complete any supplementary information forms (SIF) if you wish to choose Headley Park Primary School as a preference of primary school for your child.

All applications for places at Headley Park Primary School are considered against the oversubscription criteria, in order of priority, as set out in the published admission arrangements 2022/23.

Mid year transfer

We have some spaces in some year groups throughout the school. Bristol City Council is our admissions authority and holds a waiting list for places in the school. The contact details and how to apply can be found here.
